Obituary for Mary G Rene (Pontes)

Warren –Mary G. (Pontes) Rene, 89, of Warren died Wednesday January 1, 2020 at Rhode Island Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Gilbert F. Rene.

She was born in Providence a daughter of the late Gilbert R. and Alice M. (Trombley) Pontes.

She was an Office Worker for Grace Barker Nursing Home for many years.

A Warren resident all of her life, she was a former parishioner of St. Mary of the Bay Church.

Mrs. Rene is survived by her son Gilbert F. Rene Jr. of Warren. Her brother Gilbert R. Pontes Jr. of Barrington. She also leaves her daughter in law Jocelyne (McGail) Rene.

She was the grandmother of Gilbert F. Rene III, April Andrade, Luke Rene, Matthew Rene, Michael Rene.

She was also the Great grandmother of Gilbert F. Rene, IV, David Andrade, Derek Andrade and Dillon Andrade .

She was the great - great grandmother of Benjamin Rene, Savannah Rene, Kennedy Rene, and Julian Rene.

Mary was the mother of the late Robert Rene.

Mrs. Rene was the great grandmother of the late Rachael Rene and the late Melanie Rene.

A prayer service will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 10: 00 am in the CHAPEL of Gate of heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence, RI, burial will follow.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.

Arrangements by Smith Funeral and Memorial Services.
