Susan M. (Wilcox) Comeau 69, of Bristol, died Saturday February 23, 2019 at Hope Hospice.

She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Comeau Jr.

Susan was born in Westerly and was a daughter of the late George and Amelia (Marzalek) Wilcox.

She had been a Bristol resident for most of her life and raised her family there. She is survived by her children Joseph L. Comeau III of North Reading and Melissa A. Comeau of Bristol. In addition to being a wonderful mom she was also a dedicated and loving grandmother to her four grandchildren Macie, Charlotte, August and Evan.

She enjoyed a variety of crafts including quilting, sewing, knitting and baking and was quite good at anything she put her mind to. She was a natural teacher and passed many of these interests onto her friends and family.

Throughout her working life she was a highly valued and respected employee, most recently as the Office Manager for Edward Jones in Barrington. Previously she was a member of the Financial Aid Office at Roger Williams University Law School, where her efforts had a lasting impact on the students she assisted. Due to her work ethic, organization and communication skills she was unanimously elected as the president of her condo association.

She was the sister of Greg Wilcox and John Wilcox, both of Bristol, Ralph Wilcox, Kathy Devol of Warren and Jane Jones of Rumford. She was the sister of the late George Wilcox. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday Feb. 28, 2019 at 10:00am at St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren.
